Cloudflare's third-quarter revenue rose 39% year over year to $782.5 million, according to its earnings release filed with the SEC on November 5. That's up from $562.0 million a year earlier. Cloudflare says it's the fastest growth it has posted in nearly four years. It also raised its full-year revenue forecast by about $97 million at the midpoint. On the earnings call, management said it now expects to reach GAAP profitability in Q4 2026 rather than its earlier target of 2028, according to BigGo Finance's summary of the call.
This quarter stands out because it came out the same evening the Nasdaq fell into a correction on AI-infrastructure fears. Cloudflare argues that it benefits from AI agents without the hyperscalers' capital spending. Seeking Alpha reported the stock rose 17% after hours.

The guidance raise
| Full-year 2026 | August outlook | November outlook |
|---|---|---|
| Revenue | $2,864M–$2,870M | $2,963M–$2,964M |
| Non-GAAP operating income | $443M–$445M | $462M–$463M |

For Q4, Cloudflare guided to $845M–$846M in revenue and $156M–$157M in non-GAAP operating income. BigGo puts that at about 38% growth. The company says revenue has now passed a $3 billion annualized run rate.
What's driving it
According to BigGo's call summary:
- Workers developers: more than 10 million active, up from about 7 million a quarter earlier.
- Large customers (paying over $100K a year): about 5,000, up 25%, with a record 308 added in the quarter. The Motley Fool also reports the 25% figure. These customers now account for 75% of revenue.
- Dollar-based net retention: 122%, up from 120% last quarter and 119% a year ago. Existing customers are spending noticeably more.
- Agents: management said Cloudflare recognized its first revenue from charging for AI-agent traffic. It didn't give an amount and pointed to OpenAI as an early partner.
CEO Matthew Prince argued that Cloudflare's lightweight isolates run AI workloads more cheaply than the container-based setups hyperscalers and neoclouds use, according to The Motley Fool.
The trade-offs
- Gross margin is slipping. Non-GAAP gross margin fell 2.9 points year over year. Management told analysts that Workers carries lower gross margins but costs much less to sell, which helps operating margin, according to BigGo.
- Restructuring is still showing up. Restructuring and other charges were $11.0M in the quarter and $161.7M so far this year. The release's forward-looking statements refer to a plan to accelerate an "agentic AI-first operating model," including an estimated workforce reduction. It doesn't give a headcount figure. On the call, management said year-end headcount should end up above where it was before the cuts, according to BigGo.
- New sales leadership. Christian Smith is taking over as President of Revenue from Mark Anderson, who retires at year-end, per BigGo and The Motley Fool.
What to watch
The Q4 report will show whether Cloudflare actually reached GAAP profitability and whether agent-related revenue becomes large enough to disclose. Also watch gross margin: if Workers keeps outgrowing everything else, it will likely fall further. Investors will have to decide whether faster growth makes up for that. For developers and site owners, the jump from 7 million to 10 million Workers developers in one quarter is the clearest sign yet of how much agent-era building is landing on Cloudflare. The company's plan to charge AI agents for traffic now has its first revenue, with micropayments expected to follow, per BigGo.
