Big launches get the headlines. These are the smaller things from October that solve a real problem — each with the detail you'd only find on page two of the spec sheet.
1. Wyze Bulb Cam Pan Color — $99.98
A 2.5K camera with motorized pan and tilt built into a light bulb that screws into a standard E26 fixture. It doubles as an adjustable light (up to 1,100 lumens) and detects people, pets and vehicles. The camera is IP65; the bulb is rated for damp locations.
Fine print: it needs an open fixture and continuous power — so the wall switch has to stay on. Local recording needs a microSD card; cloud storage and some AI alerts need a subscription.
2. Samsung Galaxy Buds On — $229
Clip-on open-ear earbuds that sit on the outside of your ear rather than in it, so you can hear traffic and conversations. About 6.65g each, IP54, up to 9.5 hours of playback (38 with the case). US availability begins in early November.
Fine print: automatic volume adjustment requires One UI 8.5 or later — this is very much a Galaxy-phone accessory.
3. Fujifilm Instax Mini Evo 2 — $289.95–$299.95
A hybrid instant camera with a 4.5-inch touchscreen, 100 lens-and-film effect combinations, and Immersive Movie, which captures the four seconds before you press the shutter. It also prints photos from your phone. Expected late November.
Fine print: Immersive Movie needs a microSD card.
4. Sony ECM-AX10 — $249.99
A four-capsule microphone that plugs into compatible USB-C phones to record spatial audio, with three recording modes.
Fine print: the full 4K workflow in Sony's Spatial Audio Video Tool app isn't due until December 2026 or later. You're paying launch price for a product that's partly a promise.
5. INIU Outdoor Rugged 10000 — $54.99
A 10,000mAh power bank with covered USB-C ports, a built-in white/red light, a detachable carabiner and a tripod thread. Up to 45W to one device.
Fine print: output drops to 15W combined when two devices are plugged in, and the IP67 rating only applies when the port cover is fully closed.
6. Waffle Home — $119.99
A Wi-Fi "family phone" for kids aged 5–12: calls and voice messages with parent-approved contacts only, no web browsing or social media. The free plan includes Waffle-to-Waffle calling, one outside contact and 400 minutes a month; Home Plus+ is $9.99/month for more contacts and international calling. Shipping began October 30.
Fine print — and it's important: it cannot call 911 if Wi-Fi, internet or power is down. Don't treat it as an emergency phone.
