AI headshot generators, measured
Six AI headshot services compared by their refund terms, what happens to your face photos, and the price they publish. We didn’t generate any headshots, so we make no image-quality claims.
How this list is ordered
Ranked by refund terms first, then what happens to your photos, then whether prices are published, then turnaround, then the pattern of user complaints. HeadshotPro, Aragon and Dreamwave are affiliate partners; each kept the position it had before we joined its program, and Dreamwave is still last. Prices were checked on the date shown on each page; Trustpilot counts are from 18 October 2026.
| # | Name | Price | Refunds | Photo retention | Turnaround | Trustpilot |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | HeadshotPro | from $29 | HeadshotPro’s pricing page says every package is covered by a 30-day money-back “Realism Guarantee”: if the results don’t look like you, you get a redo or a full refund. Its terms also allow a full refund within 14 days if you haven’t downloaded anything; other refunds are at its discretion. | Input photos are deleted automatically 30 days after generation, and HeadshotPro says it doesn’t use them to train AI. Its privacy policy says deletion requests are completed within 14 days. | About 2 hours (Basic) to 15 minutes (Executive) | 4.7/5 from 3,612 reviews |
| 2 | Aragon | from $35 | Refund within 14 days, but not if you’ve downloaded headshots or didn’t follow the upload instructions. A free redo is offered. Subscriptions are refundable within 14 days only if no credits were used. | Face data is deleted within 30 days of delivery (for subscribers, when the subscription ends), and never kept longer than 1 year. Payment records are kept for 7 years. | About 45 minutes (Basic) to 15 minutes (Executive) | 4.6/5 from 7,236 reviews |
| 3 | BetterPic | from $35 | Refund within 7 days if no model has been trained yet. If a model was trained but you haven’t downloaded, there’s a 10% fee. No refund after download, and credits aren’t refundable. | Input photos are kept up to 1 year, and trained models and output photos up to 3 years, with instant deletion available in the app or via support. Customer data is stored mainly in the EU (Frankfurt). Account data is deleted within 90 days of a full deletion request. | About 2 hours (Basic) to 1 hour (Expert) | 4.7/5 from 1,025 reviews |
| 4 | Magic Studio | from $59 | The headshots page promises a refund if you get fewer than 4 decent headshots, haven’t downloaded any, and ask within 3 days. The terms of service say purchases are generally non-refundable, with discretionary refunds up to 2 days after purchase. The two pages conflict. | The headshots page says data is deleted 30 days after creation. The privacy policy says deletion requests take up to 7 business days, with remnants in backups for up to 90 days, and that your inputs and outputs may be used to improve its machine-learning models. | About 15 minutes, per Magic Studio | 5/5 from 17,201 reviews |
| 5 | Secta Labs | not stated | not stated. The homepage says “Refund guaranteed”, but we found no refund terms in the terms of use. | Original images are deleted once processed. Other personal data is deleted when you close your account, when your subscription expires, or within 14 days of a confirmed deletion request. | The homepage says both “under an hour” and “less than 2 hours” | 2.3/5 from 24 reviews |
| 6 | Dreamwave | not stated | No refunds: Dreamwave’s terms of use (section 13) say all purchases are final sale and no refund is available “at any time”. Subscriptions are canceled by emailing support@dreamwave.ai. Complimentary redos, where a package includes them, must be requested within 30 days and aren’t guaranteed. | Personal models and data are deleted automatically after 30 days of inactivity. HeadshotPro Measured
from $29
HeadshotPro has the lowest clear entry price ($29), the most generous published refund terms here (a 30-day Realism Guarantee on top of a 14-day no-download refund), and a short, documented retention period. That mix of refunds, privacy and price puts it first. Image quality is something we haven’t judged.

Aragon Measured
from $35
Aragon is fast, documents a 30-day deletion window, and offers a free redo. Its refund rules are close to HeadshotPro’s but stricter in practice: Reddit users report denials after downloading. The constant “limited time” discount is a pricing tactic, so judge it by the price you actually pay.

BetterPic Measured
from $35
BetterPic’s privacy policy is the most detailed here, but its default retention is long, so use the delete button when you’re done. The refund window is the tightest of the tools with clear prices, and edits cost extra. Its strengths are 4K output at every tier and EU storage.
-
Magic Studio Measured
from $59
Magic Studio is quick, but it costs more than the top three, its refund promise conflicts with its own terms, and its privacy policy lets it use your inputs and outputs to improve its models. Its 5.0 Trustpilot score is for magicstudio.com as a whole, which sells many AI tools besides headshots.
-
Secta Labs Measured
not stated
Secta’s data-deletion policy is good, but we couldn’t find a price or any refund terms behind its “Refund guaranteed” badge, and its Trustpilot reviews are the weakest here. Pick a tool that shows you both up front.

Dreamwave Measured
not stated
Dreamwave’s retention terms are fine, but an unpublished price and an all-sales-final policy put it last. Its own site claims a 4.96/5 rating from more than 2,000 reviews without naming a source, while its Trustpilot page shows 3.1/5 from 12. Some reviews on its Trustpilot page also seem to describe a different Dreamwave product, so treat that score with care.
